Baby Kellen

So, Kellen has been here for 7 weeks now, and due to a special request, I'm finally getting some pictures posted! I didn't realize how hard it would be to find time to do things when you have a 2 year old and a newborn!!

Waiting for Baby!

Tomorrow, when Jon gets home from school, we'll be going up to the hospital!! The doctor is going to break my water because he thinks that it's about to do it soon, and he doesn't think that I'll make it to the hospital in time whenever it happens. I've been dilated to 5 centimeters for over a week, and I'm completely effaced!

I was worried about being induced (extremely painful!!), but he said that he's pretty sure they won't need to give me Pitocin. He thinks that the baby will come as soon as my water breaks.

We'll update you later to let you know how it went! I'm all ready nervous! It's different knowing when it's going to happen instead of being surprised!

Ever since the Fourth of July, when Violet got to ride the horse at the Higgins' house, she has been obsessed with horses. So...we took her to the fair so that she could see the horses and the other animals. She got to watch some of the horse show and sheep show. When we were leaving the horse show, she ran over to where some horses were standing, and she was yelling, "Neigh, neigh!" It was really funny! She's not scared of them at all! One of the young women from church was showing a sheep at the sheep show, so she got to watch some of it. Then, we got to see the girl's steers, and Violet had fun petting them. One of our students showed us around the pig and rabbit/chicken barns. Violet seemed to like those, too...until the girl's pig stuck it's nose through the fence to smell her. That startled her a bit. The pictures below are from the fair. There are a few from the parade, too. She had fun picking up the candy that was thrown to her; although, I'm not sure if she really understood what was happening.

The Zoo

Today, Jon and Patrick took Violet and Josie to the zoo in Tulsa. It was Jon's idea. He came up with the idea all by himself, and it made me really happy. I wish that I had been able to go, but I had to work...I've got that extended contract, you know. The pictures are below.

An Idea

I was watching one of my favorite shows the other night, Unwrapped, and it showed a restaurant in Pennsylvania called Cereality. I don't like cereal, but it's a way cool place. It's kind of like Cold Stone...it's actually owned by the same company as Cold Stone. You go in and choose your cereal...you can pick one or mix them...then you get to add toppings, such as dried fruit, chocolate chips, gummy worms, etc. Besides cold cereals, they also have oatmeal for those chilly days when you want something warm in your tummy. Oh, and they also have smoothies.

I really want to open one up here in Fayetteville. They're looking for franchises near college campuses. Jon doesn't like the idea, though. He likes plain cereal...boring!! Hahaha.

What do you think? Wouldn't you like to eat a bowl of Captain Crunch and Trix with chocolate chips and dried cranberries in it? Yum!

Another Milestone

Since I've been home for the summer, my goal was to get Violet to drink her milk from a cup. Previously, she would drink anything out of her cup, such as juice, water, soda...but not milk. She completely refused. But, after about 1 week, she has finally given up the bottle!! I began making her use those cups that have the soft spout, and she seems to like it. It's been about a week or two, and yesterday, I gave her some milk in a regular sippy cup (with a hard spout), and she drank it without complaint. Yay!! I'm happy. Next step...potty training. Maybe I'll wait until next summer!!

Trying something new

I'm not really a blogger, but I thought that I might start using this so that my family and friends can see what I've been doing. I have a MySpace account and a Facebook account, and the only people that I actually talk to are people that I see all of the time in person. And, the other people that I talk to don't use either of those sites. So, I'm thinking that I can use this blog to post pictures and stories. Then, I can send an e-mail to everyone, and they can check it out. That saves me from having to write the same things over and over and from having to post pictures in various places across the web.

Here are some pictures from June. There are some of Violet and Josie playing with the water hose in Josie's pool, some are of Violet making a psycho face, and some are from Violet sharing my birthday cupcakes with me.

About Me

My photo
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe in Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I know that they are three separate beings. I read the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. The Bible is a testament from prophets about Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is another testament from prophets about Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ's gospel was restored again on the earth through Joseph Smith, the first prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know what I was doing before I came to earth, and I know what will happen when I leave the earth. I am thankful that I was married and sealed to my husband and children in the temple so that we can be together for eternity. I strive to choose the right every day. I know that nobody on this earth is perfect, but I rely on the atonement of Jesus Christ, which gives me the opportunity to repent and to be forgiven.
